A new face on the immigration team at Austen Jones Solicitors, Amelia has been a qualified immigration lawyer since 1992. She studied her first degree in Social Science at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, before completing her studies in law in Newcastle-upon-Tyne. As a further boost to her international credentials, she was admitted as a solicitor in Hong Kong in 1998 and more recently in Ireland too. In 2009 she acquired the qualification of a Notary Public.

Amelia set up her own legal practice in 1996 and brings with her over twenty years of experience in asylum, immigration and nationality work. She has successfully helped asylum seekers to obtain status in the UK and reunion with their family and acted for asylum seekers from 20 different countries.

Over the years her extensive work in the sector means she has developed particular expertise in business immigration, the UK’s points-based system and immigration work relating to dependents and family reunion.

Her current client list includes individuals, SMEs and corporates from varied ethnic backgrounds, both in the UK and abroad. Amelia’s other practice areas include residential conveyancing; business and commercial properties transactions; and Wills and probate, including re-sealing of foreign Grant of Probate.

Her team members can speak English, Cantonese, Mandarin and Malay.
